Ever since I learned how to drive, I've been my mom's official sidekick in doing errands. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE accompanying my mom. She's so cool,
I think if both of us were in a car race she'd drive circles all around me. But I'm not here to talk about my mom or racing...
Last weekend, mom needed to do a million things all at once and was visibly stressed. She needed to get some meat and veggies from the wet market for the cafeteria she runs, grab some groceries for the house, plus buy school supplies for my little brother. I remembered my older sister talking about SM Hypermarket along C5, how she could just go there and get everything in one go -- so I suggested that my mom and I try it out.
The SM Hypermarket in Pasig is massive. I'm used to grocery shopping with my mom but nothing could have prepared me for this! I was overwhelmed but at the same time happy because this meant we would most likely find everything we needed.
SM Hypermarket really takes shopping to the next level. I was impressed by how creatively displayed the products were. Aside from having bright colorful signs, a lot of shelves would have these little monitors which would display customized ads. I would have taken more pictures but a roving guard politely informed me that photography was prohibited so I sheepishly pocketed my camera phone.
We browsed through the aisles and I noticed my mom didn't seem so stressed anymore, I guess she realized that we really didn't have to go anywhere else after SM Hypermarket. It was like a supermarket and department store put together. We took our time shopping and was able to enjoy the whole experience. I was even able to taste Gonuts Donuts' Scream Cheese cupcake because there was an outlet right across the cashier!
The funny thing is, we have an SM Hypermarket near our house which we didn't know about! Since we were in a rush that day, we automatically proceeded to the branch my sister mentioned but we actually live close to SM North Edsa where an SM Hypermarket is readily accessible. It was only when I surfed through the SM Hypermarket website that I found out. It's all good though because I'm 100% sure we'll be back, and next time we won't have to drive all the way to Pasig.
